South American "Gaucho" Carved Deer Horn-Powder Horn?

    What was the purpose of this?..Not a powder,horn it is closed on the small end.

    Could it IMG_1248.JPG IMG_1250.JPG IMG_1247.JPG IMG_1249.JPG IMG_1253.JPG IMG_1251.JPG IMG_1254.JPG have hung from a belt?

    I like the detail & workmanship....Also the initials "RS" ?

    It is 7" long

    It;'s a drinking cup.
    the lanyard went thru the cowboys belt or hung on the saddle

    The horn is clean and in great shape....but that leather is not new by a long shot....don't let it go for peanuts.....it's sweet !!

    Leather can be maybe 10 years old and look weathered and antique, so can't go by looks. I see the same sort of braiding for bosals. Nice horn stirrup cup :)

    Yes....but I'm seeing this one as having honest age.

    I am just going by all my leather horse tack but then I am no expert ;)

    yes , but that's a cow horn and not close to the same quality !
    The carving of Sperls horn is master craftsman grade !
