How much do you price gold pieces at

    So I dabble in a little jewelry, but I don't dabble usually in gold unless I am making it from findings myself that I buy so I know how much to charge,

    I have 2 pieces

    First is 10k gold italy stamped ( unsure of age cant find much about it)
    Second 14k gold ZZ stamp. (likely from the 90s)

    I have found comparable pieces to the 14k gold one but not the 10k one,

    I have no idea what to price these at and I have customers wanting to buy

    Do you have a gram scale?

    If you're unable to find something similar to your first piece, if you can determine the weight, you could compare that to necklaces of a similar weight on ebay.

    If you don't have a scale, measure the length of the necklace and then find a necklace that is similar in length with small beads to compare to.

    I would suggest using the "sold" prices on ebay to compare as people can ask anything they want, but it doesn't mean they'll get it.

    yes absolutely their prices on the ebay pieces were quite reasonable,

    I have a kitchen digital scale that does grams too big?

    I have a postal scale that does grams and I find it is not sensitive for light weight items. What I do it put something heavier on the scale, add the jewelry item and subtract to find the difference. Then I go to an online gold calculator and check the scrap price. Not all eBay sellers put the gram weight in their listings.

    Some gram scales for kitchens will work, others won't go down low enough (I have one that won't register below 10g). Give yours a try!

    As far as eBay pricing goes, for standard pieces like your first one, I price at 25% above scrap for wearable pieces without stones. There are several online gold calculators that you can use to figure the price per gram. Here's a link to goldcalc.

    For example if the weight is 4.5g, I use the $112.45 amount from the calculator and add 25% to that amount for a listing price of $140.00
