image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I got this a while ago and have had it in the garage. There's a label on the back that looks old and is written "Kashmir Special German Rug". Is this a real Kashmir? I notice that it's much lighter than any other rug that I've seen. Like everything else, got this at the Goodwill for $5.

looks like a machine woven chinese style design,,,
for 5 bucks you can lay it near the front door for folks to wipe their feet !

    Hi Armando,
I have to agree it is a newer Chinese rug. The label means nothing. I would use it as a door mat also. I use my 90 year old rug as a front door mat. It is Persian and a nice rug it gets a lot of use but not much wear. A couple of times I year wash and soak it in the bathtub and then place it in the washer on spin to help dry it out. It then lays on the tile floor flat to dry.

Just wondering, does this look machine made? The fringes loop around those brown thread things at tie to each other. The fringes aren't sewn to it.

Yes it does. It's not the fringe that's the key, it's the way the underside of the main rug looks. All those little white lines holding it together.

A hand-knotted rug does not have those.

Here are 2 pictures (taken hurriedly so they aren't the greatest) of a hand-knotted rug of my own.

    Here is the face:

Here is the same part of the rug flipped over to show the underside:

The binding and appplied fringe on OP's rug also scream "machine made".
