Just picked up this lovely card holder at a local thrift for only $20!! RIGA is the capitol of Latvia. Are the silver marks (.875) Russian? or did Latvia have their own marks? Thanks for any help!

During the Russian/Soviet Era they had Russian marks.
The town assay mark would have a P for Riga (Cyrillic), which I do see on the mark on the right. The rest of the mark is a blur to me though, probably a post-1958 kokoshnik mark.

My local grocery sells them but Amazon has them also and I think Wal-Mart has the larger glass jar size. Once you try these, you'll never eat any other kind!!

Fid, I think you are looking at the 875 mark, for .875 silver fineness.;)

Cool piece. My grandfather and his family were from Riga.
