    When I saw the title for this post, wondered if it would turn out to be this William. Too bad the Egyptian cat with an earring that was another iconic image for the Met turned out to be fake!

    Hi,
    When I went to the MET in the 40s I bought a copy of "William" they were selling. He broke about 3 years ago. I bought him and a small model of a
    waterlily.

    I had one, too, and it fell out of a window and broke. :(. That was in 1975 and I still miss him.
