My dad's mother was a Morimura Bros freak too; she'd have loved it!

Hmmm. What do you think about the misspelled marks?

You think it is misspelled? I think it is just worn?

That's curious. Do you think it was someone who was not familiar with English? They have all the letters, just not the right order "Hdna"

Your first picture makes Hand looks like Hdna and that impression continues in the closeup. I could live with NIoPON as wear.

That would be just Wrong lol.
I can get $5 for it in my yard sale no problem.

I don't think you were fooled. This is a hand painted piece and even the mark was hand painted. The artist was just a little dyslexic or a non-English speaker. If someone asked me to paint Asian characters on the back of porcelain, I would have to look every time to see if I copied it correctly. Our languages are that different. And sometimes you get more for an item with a factory boo boo.

And speaking of boo boos, here's a photo of some plates I'm trying to sell. See anything wrong with the label on the back? It looked OK when they left China, lol!

    Dessert should be Desert, right?

Yep! But I don't get any more for the factory mistake. In fact, the plates are likely going to garage sale, if I can ever have one.

Those are pretty plates. (and I must seriously be distracted/tired because I typed "place" first)

Thanks, I had a very large set of the pattern, but sold everything except these plates. It was a fun set to sell as there were a lot of chip/dip bowls and other fun party trays and dips bowls and mugs etc. They were designed by Nancy Green and she has another similar pattern called Serape which is more popular.
