Humidor lock

I have an antique humidor, key has been missing for decades, can a locksmith make a key for it without replacing the lock?

 

What does the keyhole look like? Those types of latching locks typically have very simple mechanisms.

 

Another question would be, do you care if it ever locks again once opened?

 

It’s unlocked now, I would like to be able to lock it, tried taking pictures of it put this site says the file is to big, when I can figure it out I’ll post some

A quick tip on posting photos iF you are using a smart phone. . .email them to yourself as 'medium' and it should resize them. Photos have to be under 1MB to post.

That type may be more of a challenge, in terms of a DIY solution. The barrel keys, in my experience, are easier to find a random key that would work. I have 500+ keys lying around for attempting to find a match for things I find.

Thanks I don’t believe the lock is still in manufacturing so I didn’t know if maybe a mold could be made
