I think this was a goodie before the feet were broken off, still curious to the maker
It was only a buck so no big loss if it tossable
    Stamped only with 49
I was searching the other day when ownedteddybear was showing her Dresser piece and found a couple, kinda sorta similar but no cigars
Waste of time with the broken feet? I know these are not the same but kinda sorta similar paintings

Seems sorts funny that it had those little knob feet

I'd think grinding off the remainders would be fine

If I had to guess, I'd go with paper label MIJ

Beautiful vase in my opinion....I certainly would have grabbed it for the art work :)

Are you sure that the feet are broken? Is the vase wobbly? Looks like it could have been just removed from the mold in a rough manner that caused that weirdness. My grandmother's sister had lots of this type of thing in her house during the 1950s. She was so into that "oriental" thing and went a bit over the top with it. Had lamps with Buddha bases and the whole shot. They joked that the lamps looked like her husband. My great Aunt would not have spent a lot on anything since they still remembered the depression then. But I like the painting on this vase. I would agree MIJ maybe around the 1950s or so.

I've never seen an MIJ vase with impressed numbers on the bottom but then again I don't get out much. My guess is German/Bohemian.
