Featured Glass or Stone?

I found this little ring today in an op shop. I bought it mostly because I love the colour. Can someone please talk me through how I determine if it is stone or glass. There is nothing stamped into the metal that I can see

 

It is lovely, Tracey. Could be 1930s.

First check it for tiny bubbles. Do you have a loupe?
Bubbles means glass, but not all glass has bubbles.
If it has no bubbles, it is best to get it tested. It could be green agate, but it could also be glass.

 

Hi AJ. I have my brand new loupe which took me 3 days to work out how to use!
No bubbles. It seems quite dense until I hold it up to the light and then it seems to come alive. Just imagine if my first ever op shop purchase turns out to be something special. X

 

Of course it is special, it is pretty.

 

I wonder if that's Canadian jade.

 

I'd bet on chrysoprase.

Is the band made up of two bands or is it a groove running through it?

 

What's an op shop? And what is the mount made of; silver?

 

Op shop = Australian charity shop. Op is opportunity I believe.

 

Hi @KSW the one band appears to be grooved. I think I will take it to my gem guy to have tested. Thanks everyone for your input and I'll let you know the outcome of the test

 

If it tests out in the quartz range - about a 7, you've got chrysoprase. Jade would be a little lower, but a piece of jade that color would be in high-karat gold. Dyed apatite would be about a 5.5. Glass is a 1, if memory serves.

 

I wonder if a mark is hidden in the groove?
