Picked this up for $30 at an antique store. It is the first piece of jewelry I have come across that is 15k. Old European stick pin that screws onto the post. Of course just the top piece is 15k and not the stick. It is marked 15ct and has a small diamond. Quite a nice piece IMO, how old do you all think this is and what is it?? Can't be any newer than 1932 due to the 15ct designation. I am thinking it may be a three leaf clover??

No, can't be a pendant because the screw part blocks the opening. These screw on stick pins were on many different sticks. Here is one on a silver stick. https://www.ebay.com/itm/antique-15...867898?hash=item25e383fcba:g:hW4AAOSwh1hZ90Ji Here is one on a 9k stick, https://www.ebay.com/itm/LARGE-ANTI...319311?hash=item51fe4582cf:g:nqEAAOSwisVZrRCW

Kinda bummed out now that it looks like some definitely had solid gold pins. $30 ehh I could of done better buying something else however, I like the piece. I'll be on the look out for a gold stick but I HIGHLY doubt I will find one.

hummmm. one might have a rough time getting a chain to pass thru there....and even then...it would hang upside down.......No ??

raised like it is offers better access to thread the pin....

Well it wouldn't hang upside down, but yea impossible to thread any chain through the hole. Oh well! Not my best buy but nonetheless now I know a little about these screw on stick pins!

As komo showed, gold pins were seen a lot. Silver was a less costly alternative.
Your stick pin could be British. In Britain 15ct became legalized in 1854 and was used until 1932, when it was changed to 14ct.
15ct was used in Ireland until 1935. I don't know of 15ct from any other countries.

I think it's an ivy leaf. Symbol of love, marriage, deep friendship. If there was a pearl it would be a mourning piece as pearls symbolise tears but with the diamond, everlasting love.

    Ivy leaf?

I know ivy was used in jewelry to symbolize friendship or love in Victorian jewelry, but I don't know how far back it was used.

    Ah, sniped by houseful.

Agree, ivy leaf. Orientation not the obvious one, with the slender stem on top. A 15 ct pin would be liable to getting bent. I not infrequently see cameo brooches on which the pin stem is either gold & a bit bent, or has been replaced with something sturdier.

Gold chains from the turn of the century were often very fine and delicate. I see no reason a chain wouldn't go through.
Or a jump ring that would then be attached to another jump ring, then hang on a chain.

That could very well be possible! I dont have any chains or jump rings that could fit. I thought it was a very unique design, whereas every other stick pin ive seen is just connected right on the back. Mine is the only one i can find with that design!
