I'm trying to find the maker of this pink glass powder jar. I was thinking it's pressed glass, but it may actually be cut, though not deeply. The pattern is vertical rows of Xs and Os in between zippers. The base is finely rayed, and the rim is cut and polished. I looked in McCain's but didn't see the pattern. The lid is brass. Overall height with lid is 5" and base diameter is just under 3 1/2".

    Thanks so much!

I had a dresser set of my mothers consisting of a brass tray and amber color jar with lid just like this. Someone who came into the house took the jar because my mother kept her watches and rings in it. :(. I still have the tray. It had belonged to her older sister and I think it was circa 1900-1920

Thank you! So sorry to hear about the theft of your mother's things. I really hate a thief. S/he didn't steal your memory, though. I'm with you on the date range for the jar.

Is it possibly wheel etched? It is very pretty!

Wheel cut, if left unpolished so it looks frosted it would be gray cut. The cuts on this piece all look polished to me.

Etching is done with acid, so there is no such thing as wheel etched :)

I believe it's wheel cut and polished, though the cuts are not deep. The glass isn't thick enough for deep cuts.

Sorry, I just couldn't come up with the terminology on it. I have days like that!
