Russian Amber Brooch

Before I follow the herd and believe this is Russian Baltic Amber I have been trying to research the stamp 7RK with the R reversed. Likely Russian with that R?
c3.5cm long
If so, is this datable?
Is Russian Amber more or less desirable?

It is just as desirable as other Baltic amber, except this is reconstituted, pressed amber. It is Soviet Era.
It is pretty, but that price is ridiculous. You can find Soviet Era natural amber jewellery from the Baltic States for far less. The most desirable is egg yolk amber.

 

I agree with AJ. When I went to St Petersburg last year, amber was ubiquitous. From wildly expensive art creations to tourist shop items like this. I want to go back and walk the shores of the Baltic and find amber.

 

Just to compare, I paid 15 euro for this Soviet Era Latvian pendant with Baltic egg yolk amber. The pendant is quite big.

 

Only 15 euros? You stole it!

 

I agree, I only used it as an example of the same shape with the same mark on the back.
It will find its own price!
