Featured Beautiful marriage, or found missing piece?

A few days ago I posted a thread on an antique Lacquer family Altar.
It was missing the top though. I finally went back to the same store and scoured the place. Saw this little book stand with the same lacquer and gold. has an engraved inventory number on it as the altar did. so I bought it.

It is solid on the bottom and lacquered and there was nothing to attach it unless it just sits on the top.I think is looks good, but maybe it doesn't go there? When I looked at the pieces together the engraved numbers were the same number? So i put it together to see what everyone thought.

Unfortunately the same way all the photos albums & other assorted photos of family members end up in just about every estate auction.

When they show up at the auction house Bill will usually call a family member to tell them he has pulled out the albums & the photos so they can come to get them. Quite often no one shows up to retrieve the items & they most likely end up in the trash when the guy who runs the office goes on one of his cleanouts.

 

They look fabulous together!
