Does this angel look familiar to anyone? I purchased this from a thrift store. No marks, but there’s a worn felt covering on the bottom that I am reluctant to remove. It’s very heavy and doesn’t appear to be fragile. The paint is worn at the tip of the wings and those places are white. It’s quite small - about 6” tall and the same from wing to wing on the bottom. Very good condition. BE208022-0B6C-421C-AD8A-C7805EBBCB18.jpeg 142CF3A3-BCF0-45D6-9321-D5F712075729.jpeg C97E8AFE-00E7-4E48-B8B0-8DCE9691062F.jpeg

My guess is either it’s chalkware (that would explain its mass) or a resin repro (again, heavy).

It’s not alabaster, is it? Is it definitely painted?

A couple close-up images might definitively determine this. Also, if you feel the base of the item (under the felt), does it feel solid all the way across or does it feel hollow?

If it were painted alabaster, I guess
    it COULD chip to white...

Here’s an amazing example of painted alabaster from St. Peter’s Cathedral.
