Hi antiquers need your opinion. I bought these real photo postcards some months ago and found something interesting with my research. The baseball team has the same logo as the
Cincinnati Red Stockings which is America’s first professional baseball team. 8EA36D36-5B91-4035-9BE2-7B76173D0B3C.jpeg DA6B1A78-A1C7-4FB7-A3F2-480E5AF34C92.jpeg 9D739387-01D9-49D9-A7F4-6968C2FAB39C.png B2295EC4-04C9-4B9A-A87D-765E09DA7366.gif It’s a early 1900s post card. All opinions is greatly appreciated.

FYI, the Cincinnati Red Stockings started in the 1860s. This card was from at least 40 years later. This kind of real photo postcard did not exist in the 19th century.

And yes, the back will help to date the card.

The stamp box dates it between 1903-1920 (solio) is it possible it could be Chicago Cubs I added a image of the cubs logo. Which would put it in the same era as this post card

According to the below website your card is a Collodion print using Solio paper and is 1908-1920's era.

The players look a bit young for major leaguers. Maybe minor leagues? I think I recall on the Antiques Roadshow an appraiser saying that the minor league players often got used gear and uniforms from the major league club due to expense.

    Oh...you did. :)

I got to see the show on the progression of catcher's masks, and the spin off of those to Hockey Goalie Masks, at the Yogi Berra baseball museum in New Jersey...2 days after he passed away. :(
I sat, for awhile, on the hassock he always sat on in the stands while teaching classes.
A great man indeed. R.I.P. sir.

One way I can think to research this thoroughly would be to go to this site that lists Chicago Cubs stats for each year:
    https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CHC/index.shtml

Under each possible year, click on the name of the team, then look at the names of the players for that year. Do searches for photos of each player and compare to the people on your postcard.

Another option is to do Google searches to try to find team photos of the team for each year.

A third option would be to write to the Baseball Hall of Fame's research center (email contact info on this page: https://baseballhall.org/node/489). I'm not sure how extensively they will research anything for free, but they might do something for a fee.
