help on the identity of the artist and signature

Hi All

I saw this picture in a old store shop. It seemed at first a repro print but upon close inspection I could see some sort of 'bleed through'' of the paper in the cloud areas suggesting to me the possibility of a watercolour. I have taken a photo .The signature seems like consisting of a few letters G.B.D. and another fourth obscured letter. I have also taken a close up photo of the signature area. Can you please help further on the painting ,the signature and identity of the artist? thanks in advance!

yes, the second pic shows the tiny signature in the bottom of the frame

Is it mostly obscured by the mat that has been damp?

 

yeah unless you tilt it is not fully visible..but i could make out g.b.d but the 4th letter is obscured

Take it out of the frame,it wont hurt anything and then you could see the full signature.

 

Maybe there is more info hiding under the mat.
