I think you are confusing heroin and cocain with opium and hashish.
If I remember correctly, you were talking about cocaine, therefore my answer referred to your mention of cocaine. However, I will explain both, to avoid any more confusion.
Cocaine is made from the South American coca plant. The Asian countries I mentioned are not, nor have they ever been, in South America.
Cocaine was first extracted from coca leaves by a German scientist in the mid 19th century. The first person to promote the use of cocaine was Sigmund Freud, an Austrian.
Heroin is not cocaine. Heroin was developed in England from opium in the late 19th century. Although Afghanistan is the prime producer of natural, crude opium, heroin is produced in laboratories elsewhere.

It's a watch key. Or made to look exactly like a watch key. If the small end is slightly square, even if worn rounded, it is certainly a key.
I'd have commented sooner but if I sit outside on the balcony I can't see the screen for the sun, and inside this 16th C Fort converted to an hotel does not have a bright enough light to see the keyboard letters.
But just for a while, some clouds have moved in so I am sitting on Faial looking at Pico across a few miles of Atlantic, and I can just about see well enough to get this watch key off my mind.
I am spending a couple of weeks in the Azores, island hopping and I am about to go to the best artisan ice cream shop in Horta for an indulgent ice cream lunch.
I'd have booked for longer, the islands are fantastic for geology and botany, but the cats are in a cat hotel at home and we can't leave them to their unexplainable imprisonment for any longer.:-(
