    I am calling this a Mid Century Modern Organic Vase - because I saw one something like it online but it was white. I don't know the maker. It isn't signed. I thought it may be Murano but no proof of that. Also, I am wrestling with the shape which I could maybe call stretch, folded, handkerchief, or ribbed...or maybe all 4. The vase is about 7" tall. I think it is beautiful but I wonder if it would be considered a "SECOND" due to the fact that one of the folded areas touches itself on the inside. Would that be considered a flaw? Also, I am not sure what all of those tiny bubbles are called. Thank you so much for any info.

    Been doing some research. This looks a lot like vintage Japanese Glass by Norleans. I could be wrong...but it sure looks like it.

    Those tiny, fizzy soda-pop-like bubbles must have a name, but I've never been able to figure out what is right to call that technique. I have a piece of Oy Kumela glass filled with those micro-bubbles that gives the clear glass a white milky or smokey look, so have been trying to find a word for quite awhile.

    All I can find are inconclusive discussions on glass sites disagreeing about the correct word. Here is a list of possibilities: bullicante, cased bollicine, sfumato or maybe pulegoso. Nobody agrees, so I decided to stick with microbubbles.

    Serendipitously came across this vase scrolling through Google images looking for a tree truck vase posted in another thread today. It looks to be the same maker as your's but has solid colors, no bubbles. I got excited, hoping it might have an original sticker, but it doesn't.

    I thought I replied to this but I don't see that my reply went through. I just wanted to thank you for your research.

    @lauragarnet

    This is Pulegoso. I’m on my iPad right now but when I’m on my desktop I will reply more.

    I'm curious - is the glass smooth or does it feel like sand paper?
    Rather interesting.
    Not sure about the Chinese attribution. - That might be right, but I probably would do a little more research.

    It is smooth, but I can feel some "ripples" type texture on the inside bottom...still smooth though, not rough.

    Sorry for the delay. I have to amend my statement that this is Pulegoso. I didnt know it had a smooth surface. Pulegoso is a pebbled type surface. The pieces I own almost have a waxy feel to them.

    Here is a link that gives pretty good descriptions for Glass making terms. I think these folks should know what they are talking about. They have been in the glass business for over 700 years.

    It doesn't cover all terminology but covers quite a bit.

    I believe what I have is cased bollicine...I looked up all of the examples that you gave me above, and this one fits the best!
