Happy Birthday James!

 

I'm a bit confused now, I sent James a message to say happy birthday yesterday, because I thought we didn't congratulate on the forum anymore. I remember some people didn't like that.

 

Hmmmm, i didn't know that was a rule, my fault for letting it slip while scolding the ol woman KC.

 

Hi AJ..............James mentioned that it was his birthday in his post. Greg acknowledged, then you and then me.



I also remember that some do not want it known, but in this case he revealed his birthday, so it would seem OK that we wish(ed) him a happy day?

 

I didn't think it was a rule here to acknowledge one's own birthday.

I think that some just do not want to be in the spotlight on their special day unless it's revealed by the birthday person themselves.

Do I have that correct?

That ain't all that many on here don't want known, no age, no location, no nuttin! I don't get all the secrecy, meanwhile here in the states we have folks like Equifax being hacked & getting vital info on millions of people. Seems a little silly to me on a forum like this to be so hyper secretive. With furniture threads at least, i am constantly asking because it's kinda important, where are you? where did you get piece?

 

I'm one of those people......I just clicked on my avatar to provide my location, but I don't see where it can be entered.

Hi,
Komo used to wish people happy birthday but SOME people voiced that they did not want their birthdays mentioned and chided him for doing it so he quit. I think it makes the board a lot more personal but there are always people who have to complain.

Did you get your membership thingy fixed? I have had no issues except sometimes alerts go to spam folder for some reason.

 

Nope...stay up late and still have to get up!

KC, a bit of a hassle, but if you have a 2nd email you might try it there. For some reason I could not get a reply to come through on a former email address I had (as if blocked on my end, possibly?) Not sure this is the same situation, but using a different email turned out to be a workaround for me.

As for the birthday wish thread-- on a practical level, with over 5,200 members, we are approaching 15 birthdays per day. That's a lotta cake!
