vase.jpg Hello, I am new here so If I'm posting incorrectly...my apologies.

I found this red and black vase at my local Salvation Army for 10 bucks. I had to have it. It's very beautiful with portions of it that look carved. It almost looks like a piece of wood when it has had a bunch of slivers shaved off. Any way, I know it's somewhat old, maybe 60s 70s or even early 80s? Does anyone here know the name of that particular "shaved" style? Or approximately how old this is? I'm just looking for as much information on this as I can and so far all of my efforts have turned up short. I cannot find an image any where on the internet that looks like this vase...so it's been difficult. Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Here is a gif where you can see the light hitting it.

(Note: The little hint of blue you might see is just a globe light I have in my living room, the vase is red and black, there is no blue.)

You could do an image search if you took a picture of it against a plain white background.

I will definitely try that! Thanks for the tip. I tried doing an image search but just used this pic. I'll try a white background version.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Welcome to Antiquers! It's interesting looking. After you take the photo against white background could you also post that here? Please use "Upload a file" as you did before, but select the Full Image version rather than the thumbnail. It defaults to thumbnail, but there is a button for Full Image.

    Thanks!
