Featured Sand Majolica pitcher - Lear? Damaged ...

Hi potties Grabbed this a number of months ago and just got around to really looking at it. It has some damage/chipping around the rim/spout, and the handle has been reattached(not a very well done job) at some point. I thought the form and decoration were beautiful so I bought it anyway - just now noticed the "Lear's Patent" and script Lear mark on the bottom. I've only found one other piece online claiming to be Lear sand majolica - here (has a similar Lear mark but not quite the same) :

So my question is - is this Samuel Lear majolica? Something else? I know it's probably not worth much give the condition. I'd just like to know the history behind it.

Only in business from 1877-86. There are two more of these on the worthpoint site.

 

Forgot to give dimensions. It stands about 12" high.

 

Both Worthpoint items sold in 2011 on eBay...one for $25 and the other for $45.
I like the color of yours better!
