My son got this fabulous chair at a yard sale yesterday for $5. I've tried searching for the company, but all I find are books about early businesses that include Decker. They made bedroom & living room suites and office furniture. The plaque says Isaac C. Decker Inc., Montgomery, PA. It's sturdy, comfortable and really well made.

Those are the sites I found. No one seems to have any of his furniture for sale. However, my son is going to use it at his desk. We all think it looks like the type of chair you see in 1940s movies - Sam Spade at his desk waiting for Lauren Bacall to walk in. The leather is in superb condition. We just plan to spiff up the wooden parts.
Hi, The only thing to worry about is those four feet. They are not that stable need a five legged one. It is STILL a great chair. My favorite desk chair is my metal one from the USS United States ocean liner. Oh course I am hoping for an 18th century Philadelphia Chippendale chair to replace it. greg
