Is this pottery insulator missing a part?

    I’m pretty sure that’s complete, made to fit over a conical wooden peg on the pole’s wooden crossbar(s.). There are books on insulators, u can probably find one to mooch-read at your local antique mall. Must be websites too, no?

    That one sure reminds me of chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream; yum!

    That type was most often used on a pipe like this

    but sometimes just a lag screw to to a pole too.
