Both fig and I think this was really nifty.

The beads *look* molded and then carved, BWDIK, could be totally molded.
    Cotton thread - barrel/screw fastener.

Anyone have any ideas on them?

I thought the carved-looking ones were plastic... not sure about the rest. Good photos, by the way!

heehee Thanks! I took them at my computer table on a tissue. :D
    Legs aren't work well today.

I do think that all of them are plastic, but the little black ones might not be - I donno either. LOL

Tomorrow, I will try some simichrome on them, but I don't think they are bakelite.
May be celluloid, but if they are I'm out of luck because I'm so stuffed up I couldn't smell a polecat.

They look like carved celluloid to me, probably 1920s-30s, I had a similar strand several years ago, but it had a celluloid clasp and no black beads.

I have another necklace with white and black beads. Some of the beads look carved or pierced like this. I'm glad you are enjoying these, Messi!

I have a painted dark burgundy one sitting here with similar beads. That's a no-doubt 30s barrel clasp on there, if that's any help. The colors are dead on for 1930s too.

    Thanks evelyb!
If I sell these, I'm planning including them a lot of "nice but borked" pieces, of which I have many!
