Machine tools, power tools, tooling, fasteners, etc, all metalworking things. Why? Hmmm, good question.

Hmmm. I'm thinking a warehouse is the way to go.

Short story time: a older collector in my area of the country bought a warehouse to store his vinyl record collection. It was massive, in the hundreds of thousands of albums. Word got out to city building inspectors and the fire department who gave him a choice: either liquidate or install a massively expensive fire protection system due to the high flammability of the vinyl. Apparently he decided to sell his collection.

Well ok, here’s another quiz question for y’all, and I’m even including a slightly obscure clue this time:

Why must I keep the floor clean, particularly considering any small solid objects?

My brain-twister clue: “Jack would regard eating off of the floor as unpalletable.”

Because little things on the floor will make the pallets out of level?

Because it's dangerous to walk on.
Misc. things with wheels may get caught and some may tip.
    Dust is explosive.

Yes Kingy got it, again! Pallet jacks are used to move pallets around for short distances over smooth floors. These relatively small devices have hard rubber wheels, front pair being only about 2” diameter. A wood splinter only about 1/8 inch diameter can stop a pallet jack from moving, so floor has to be kept clean.

Here’s a clockwise tour of what came off the truck; easier to see here than when it got inside. Everything is “previously owned.” It all weighed over 13 tons per the trucking Co., but u pay by space not weight, and this 53-foot truckload for a one-day trip from the Midwest to the east coast was under $1500., which is a small fraction of what it would cost to ship piece-by-piece.

Yes, me too, and they are pure top-grade, thick white oak! So I save them all unless broken, and we mount machines on them with bolts or we put big swivel casters on the 4 corners and use them as dollies to move stuff around the now-too-small warehouse. The shipper charges me $25. Ea. For standard sizes and $50. For big, custom-made ones, but I couldn’t even buy the oak for that so I don’t mind.
