Silver Plated Heron Dish

    I bought this little 7 inch dish which is silver plated and decorated with Herons and leaves around the beaded edge.Can find a reference to this dish even though it has clear markings any help appreciated .Makers mark is Simpson with A B & lTD . PA110411.JPG PA110410.JPG PA110412.JPG

    I think that the letters are A B & Co. Possibly for A J Beardshaw and Co of Sheffield. See the first mark in their marks display on the page in this link. You'll see how the gothic C and superscript o of the Co abbreviation look like yours.

    Not sure what the "Simpson" is for, although my best guess would be the retailer.

    I have lived a formal lifestyle all of my life and I have NEVER seen a specific dish reserved for serving heron........................who knew????

    yeah, I know - but its early and all of the caffeine hasn't kicked in yet, so.........
