Wowser @Bookahtoo, what a haul! Yes, get listing! Looks like you have some of the 'knee-hugging' elves, they are popular.
@Lucille.b yes, even if not working they are worth money. Value depends on colour combinations, and the double rows are worth even more. There are reproductions of these out there, I believe they are plastic whereas the old ones are crystal.

Looking at the prices of the matchless stars got me thinking about what other high end Christmas collectibles are out there.

Get a look at the Christmas spiders! I am also surprised at how well the Swarovski ornaments do. I have always known that feather trees do well but the aluminum trees have shot way up in price. I am also surprised at the ceramic trees. I have passed many of those by. The vintage yard art can get pretty pricey as well.

Wow, thanks Brad. More to keep an eye out for.

On other matters, Mill Cove, I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure I've passed up honest to goodness treasures over the years, I'd rather not know about it though!

As a disclaimer, I've never even held one of these lights, but as Cx said, it is the color combination, number of rows, certain ones that bring the big bucks. The high priced ones might have been super desirable for some reason, in full working order and/or a rare color --who knows. The list was shown highest sold first, that can be misleading sometimes.

And who knows, maybe your next treasure is just around the corner!

Lucille, thank you for sympathizing. I did find a very nice treasure this weekend but not the same kind of money as those 2 boxes would have realized.

    Christmas Spiders? Who knew!

Brad - I listed 6 Nativity blow molds yesterday. I sold one yesterday for $55, and I just sold the second one for $99. I listed them buy it now and included shipping, hoping they don't go to California. This one did, so less profit, but hey - they're real big and I want them out of here!

    wow, lots more info great!
True like anything rare sells all year round. I sold two small wax angels ornaments for 100+ each no where near the Christmas season.

Bookahtoo: wow, I would of started in May to get that lot ready! Take it in sections. I would start with a few complete boxes, a few elf/pixie lots of no more than three in a group, one green light-up tree, one white light-up tree, a lot of six or less indents.

Over estimate your shipping costs on the glass ornaments. Even though they are light weight, they really need a lot of room away from the side of the boxes. I wrap each lightly with tissue, and then set back into box (if there is a box) and usually have a 3" bummer around the ornaments.

Bookahtoo: In one box you have a bunch of "sugar" bells. Crafters buy these to make Christmas corsages and other decorations. I use them too in my Christmas hobby....maybe I'll post some when I get the courage. I had the good fortune of buying an entire garage full of Christmas crafty 1940-1960s supplies several years ago. The woman sold homemade wreaths for years. I sold off what I didn't want awhile ago. The rest I've been tinkering with.

Matchless Stars are one of those things I've had an eye out for since I was a kid.
Someone used to run an add in the local 'tiquers paper wanting Matchless Star Christmas lights, HIGHEST prices paid. The add was in every issue. I was inspired to find out just exactly WHAT was a Matchless Star. I'm glad I did. Best hit was around 10 assorted, but I've had more'n a few others over the years.

    These things are genuinely rare.
