Featured Footed satsuma dishes with unusual design

hello all

Here i have a pair of Satsuma dishes. Fairly typical in design i think however they have a very distinct centre pattern of 3 leaf/tree shapes. I wonder if this would indicate a certain artist?

Approx 5 inches accross

 

It might indicate the family it was made for. That's a "Mon" or Japanese family crest. Just don't ask me whose.

 

The centre design looks like a Japanese Kamon - three ginko leaves - fairly common if I remember my design classes....................

Too bad you weren't Beeton; I've been watching for one of her cookery books since forever.
BTW - found it! It's three hollyhock leaves. Tokugawa Shogunate mark.

hollyhock leaves? Well bless my soul, and d@mn my eyes.......so they are..............

 

I've never seen a hollyhock leaf in person that I can recall, but I have a book full of the Mon somewhere...with no names attached. Bought it to swipe the designs for art work, or my attempts at same anyway.

 

Perchance you refer to this volume?
