French or English Clock?

    I am not sure if this is the correct forum for clocks, however I am sure someone will let me know if I need to post elsewhere.
    I am hoping someone may have knowledge of this carriage clock. My Grandmother left it to me when she passed. It looks like the clock is by an English maker however the case has France stamped into it with the letters 36. So, I am totally confused :).
    Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Anyone know anything about AFantiques, he has not posted since Jun 16, 2020, I hope that all is well.

    The retailer was J Bishop Bournemouth and the maker is unknown but france produced many fine clock makers such as Japy Frères who made clocks for many UK retailers.

    Oh that makes sense. I assumed J Bishop Bournemouth made the clocks but more likely sold clocks made in France. Very interesting. The clock face on the one I have is very similar to the one you found.
