Basket on Casters ?

    Curious if anyone happens to know what this might have been used for?
    Believe it's walnut and maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't look like export stuff to me.

    I don't think that is black walnut. Is there other kinds of walnut that are lighter shades? I'm thinking cherry wood.

    Those castors are meant for a floor. Pantry basket maybe, for hard squash or potatoes or something? Those wheels got wet more than once, and a kitchen floor would make sense.

    Maybe for putting your potted plant in and rolling around the porch or wherever.

    stack newspapers - to keep near a fireplace to help start fires, and then roll away so sparks don't reach it.

    I wouldn't keep any basket item close to a fire...newspaper or not !! :eek::eek::eek:
