Featured Coat rack closet?

It's obvious to me that I CAN'T stop as I've just written ANOTHER long diatribe in another thread !! It's an addiction I think and I haven't got a handle on it. I LOVE writing though .. thank you for your patience and comments. I had a newspaper column many years ago and was writing a story about a family with much alcoholism and drug addiction within it, it would end with info on how to contact the local AA for meetings. The Problem was that folks would stop me on the street to ask me WHAT was going to happen in the next chapter! I don't know if anyone actually joined AA. Anyway, there I go again, it's shameful .. I'm off to watch Archie Bunker .. Joy.

My apologies if my earlier post seemed to suggest there was anything wrong with meandering or going off-topic, or seemed to point at anyone in particular. That was certainly not my intention; I do it all the time myself.
I had just noticed that nobody had yet mentioned the term "armoire" and thought it would be appropriate to mention that - as a means of inserting a little joke about the definition of armoire including "storage of cats."
Which was of course my own little bit of OT comment......

nothing to worry about, all fakes, your comment about cat storage made me laugh, and it was not even off topic as I posted a picture of cats being stored in my armoire.

Now back to why my armoire does not have a drawer at the bottom but a deep void where one could store cats or boots.

 

Perhaps for use as a "secret" compartment? My Grandfather made bookcases that had the bottom panel of the lowest shelf removable, for no apparent purpose, creating a deep area that could only be accessed by removing the bottom panel.....my Grandmother kept her favorite old religious books in there, in case someone wanted to steal them.

 

Genie Houdinicat says it's toy and catnip stash storage. Maybe it's where great-grandad kept his stash of things he didn't want his kids knowing he had in the house?

 

I sure hope your cats did not get that fat on mice. Gotta love those kitties.

 

My current cat can't figure out that after she catches the mouse, she's supposed to KILL it. Total indoor-only cat-itis I suppose.

I loved the way you described the cat on the wardrobe, you made it come to life.
Your story reminded me of a Norwegian forest cat I got from a shelter. Talk about big, but he loved those high spaces. Whenever he jumped down, the house shook. He was very sweet, whenever I had a headache he would come and put his head against mine. Picture it, forehead to forehead.
