"Lilly Of The Valley" Vase-BPCO/FO...Painted & Signed F.Westerman-Artist-Origin-Help?

Looks like a hobbist painted vase. I'll check my sources a little later. By the way Lily is spelled with only l. A lot of people do it.

According to the following website BPCO is the Bo'ness Pottery - whatever that is.
Note the picture of the marks shows the same BPCO / FO.

Welllll, scratch my above reply. I've now found that BPCO / FO was a mark used by the Bell Pottery Co of Findley, OH. This info is in an Adobe Acrobat File. The following link will ask you if you want to open the file or save it:

BTW, the above pottery file is on the Ohio State University website. It appears the file is of pottery companies of Ohio.

Very detailed history you found on the Bell Pottery Co. It looks like that mark would have been used starting in about 1898 and going into the early 20th century.

Thank you for the info on the mark. It was driving me crazy. I wonder if indeed it was an artist that did the painting. If it was that small of a pottery it might be as marked. It is so similar to china painters from that period. I wonder if we will ever now?
