peanuts.jpg This was my fun buy from yesterday: Woodstock and Snoopy musical wall box made by ANRI, copyright 1971. Movement by Thorens. Don't know that I would have bought it in the past except for seeing some Peanuts collectibles on the boards. Only found two on google (I really hate Worthpoint links!), but a few more on a Bing search. Curious to see whence it goes -- the bing ones seemed to do well.

Boxlot of silver plate trays, bowls and pitchers, for friend who loves to polish and sells tables full at one of his shows. Fished out 2 weighted sterling candle sticks (the squat kind) and 2 salt shakers beyond what I can polish. Those are my reward for being a good friend, and will go to scrapper -- no maker and just run of the mill.

001.JPG Pair early early andirons, snake form, not in the best of shape (lots of pitting on the log holders and a repaired upright), but Southern, most likely locally made, hand forged and with unusual ridged turned tops.

My area isn't exactly rife with estate sales, thrift stores, yard sales, or even auctions. I've been resorting to the local swap meet group on facebook to ferret out what might still be left in the area. I'm finding enough to keep me amused. Yesterday was the exception, and I came home with a decent haul, including boat paddles and an industrial tripod which should all sell next week in Atlanta.

I would have bought that music box in a heart beat. I found one that sold last
August that went for $275.00 on a BIN/BO listing. I've got it on my watch list.
    Good luck!!!!

April 17th I was waiting in the fresh snow for an estate sale to open. As I was waiting I saw a number of wood ducks going in and out of Minnehaha creek. I knew they would be up to my place within the week.

April 20th I hauled out the ladder to evict the limb rats from the wood duck box in the front yard. There was already two eggs in it.

Over the next few weeks many ducks came to check out the box. So many that I built a second one and put it out back. A couple checked out the back one but none ever called it home.

For the last few weeks I would often see the white eye ring peaking out from the front box. Yesterday I didn't see her at all. I figured I would go up Monday and clean out the rotten eggs.

This morning when one of cats was out front I saw the eye ring again. Surely she was wasting her time. It's June 8th!

After a little afternoon nap I saw some motion in the backyard.

I see 16 in that shot. Without a still frame they were impossible to count.

Edit: On looking again, that has to be number 17 behind her neck. I had just counted heads before.

Wow so just how many checked out that box and managed to leave an egg or two behind LOL!

Spent 2-days this past weekend on a Statewide yard sale - I've attached a number of photos of finds. The pics are not great, as there is stuff everywhere and I had to take pics in my kitchen - my office and all tables are covered. This is just a portion of stuff, I put several things away (over 8 tubs worth I purchased in total). Lots of bread and butter stuff, but found some gems as well. It took alot of work though, as storms kept sellers away or ended sales early and there were more buyers than ever. Somehow I spent 50% less than I ever have in the previous six years, but purchased the same amount of inventory - I think I'm more proud of that.

It looks like others also scored well this weekend (those 5 bowls are stunning, the fenton lamp, the ANRI piece, etc.) It's the season!

$7.00 for the vintage Anchor Hocking and $10.00 for all the glass.

$10.00 ea. on the Dinky's, these ones seem to sell for $100.+ each.

Mixed advertising stuff. I love the men's Black Belt Cologne - it is from 1968. Paid .50 and the prices really differ. Anywhere from 14.99 to 49.99 in the same condition as mine. I felt like a bit of a perv buying the Pond's from these two older lovely ladies, but it is discontinued and collectible now. Heck, a pic of it is even being repinned on Pinterest as 'Vintage'.

Basic advertising stuff, prob. all for the mall space.

The repro peanuts jar will do well, the rest is filler stuff. The bowl is an example of something for the mall crowd - I can't sell it online, but it would barely last one day in the booth.

Vintage bowls were a few dollars each. The Figgio teapot is great - I literally could not reach across the ladies table space fast enough... I knew that design a mile away.

I'm glad I spent the $3.00 on the Ryan Pimpernel Placemats. Folks seem to like her stuff.

Early McCoy was .50 - I don't know about the blue glass or clear glasses (what they are yet). The clock is a great find - a labeled Fostoria Clock @ $10.00.

Some of the metalware. Genuine WW2 toolchest - purchased from the gentleman himself. That is his ID number on the top and front - $2.00. Vintage metal trashcans are a decent seller if you can find them - a great deal at $1.00.

The wall stuff; the one on the left I haven't researched. It is signed, number 40/100. The one in the middle - I have the full set of 8. It is the vintage Arthur Singer series. And the other is a fun stucco chicken set.

The last pic. These three are unmarked and I'll eventually ask for help. The one on the right I'm not sure sure about age wise, possibly a repro, but a chip on top is throwing me off. The one on the left is beautiful, tall and the only item from this trip I am keeping.

Lovely glass in that first pic, funkeysfinds!

I've never seen those dinkys before - something I will have to keep an eye out for now!

@mymysharona - the bracelet was for an adult woman. I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but 1930s/40s wouldn't surprise me. They call the style Victorian Revival.

This weekend was a total bust. There was a big sale I should probably have hit, but it's always professional dealers and people selling their kids' used stuff. The other sales...nothing for me. Unless you count the guy who chased me down with his car claiming I'd stolen a dog bowl he had out. Uhm, sorry dude. No you are not getting a handicapped woman to park her car so you can look in her trunk when you sound like you're off your meds. Not happening. I did however just get this little pendant in the mail. Tests like gold. No clue what the stone is.

A dog bowl, evelyb? That's crazy. Was it 24k gold?

Lovely pendant - I wonder what that stone is.

I believe you're right on the age. I've seen them called sweetheart bracelets, and there are victorian era ones, but mymysharona's appears to be 30's or 40's.

It may have a signature. If so, odds are it's one of the Providence or North Attleboro MA factories. Those always look like they ought to be lockets but never are. I think some Victorian ones did open.

As for the dog dish - from the way he was acting, it was either karat gold or the one that matched the aluminum collander he usually wears on his head.:p

    funkeysfinds,

The pottery on the left looks like Zanesville. The center one is likely Brush McCoy Onyx. A look at the bottoms would confirm but I am pretty confident in the ID.
