What is this porcelain whatchamacallit?

    I think both this and the eBay item are spoon holders, placed on the table at teatime.

    I keep assuming it has to do with seafood due to the decoration, but that got me nowhere.

    So, too small at 4.5", unless you're using Demitasse spoons!! :rolleyes: The one on ebay is 8"......which does sound more like napkin size....

    INH 'cracks' it again - look closely at the lower right of the picture #3. It says cracker. ;)

    I think it is too big for toothpicks. This is 4 1/2" & toothpicks are 2 5/8".

    As suggested, the 'napkin holder' in the link is a spoon holder, but the OP's item is a toothpick holder.



    The overall length isn't really important, but the size of the opening should allow easy retrieval of the toothpick, which could vary in size (and still can)...

    I would have never guessed it was a toothpick holder. I picked it up because the shape was so odd to me. Cool! You guys rock!
