Yes, but I had to look up a Queen Mary candlestick!(LOL) It's a single I use to photograph jewelry and the like. A glass candlestick is a great place to hang dangly earrings and sit bracelets.

Took the words right out of my drool, Bear! The turquoise earrings are either Native too or a really good imitation. The middle ones look artisant, and are those bottom things Yale cuff links? I found some goodies at an estate sale today, but don't have photos yet. Tomorrow I have to go to a funeral, so while I'll be hitting a tag sale first I doubt I'll find much else this weekend.

Thanks, Ruth :) The design on the cuff links? It's currently an unknown coat of arms. I'm trying to take decent photos of them (they're very uncooperative) so I can start a post with all the questions that I have about them ... which is many.

They might just be 60s "heraldic" jewelry of no known provenance. They made a ton of fantasy pieces.

Very pleased to have bought this ale jug.

    Possibly Masonic.

Not sure if the bird's nest image is a stock image or has a deeper meaning

That jug is screaming Masonic at me too. The compass is a big giveaway, and the verse about doing good pretty well seals the deal.

This was one of the boxes left out by the auction house for buyers to pack items, which I duly did and it was only when I got home that my wife pointed it out to me.

Not antique, this was probably made late 1970 early 1971( we went decimal in Feb 1971) and is just the sort of thing that usually gets collapsed and recycled.

So I wondered whether it had any value and then saw that a Marmite packaging box had sold for over £100. Now I know there are a lot of avid Marmite collectors out there but I'm going to test the market for Daz collectors too ;)

Even if only sells for a few quid, that's free money; I never turn down free money. Or cheap money. Speaking of which, I had to go to a friend's mom's funeral on Saturday morning. There was a church rummage sale a fair ways from here, in a little country church. God/the friggin' MS/Pick any two woke me up early, so off I went. The gold headed to the scrapper isn't in the pictures, but I'm going to clear at least $200 on it. The pictures show some of the rest, including some tobacco silks of ladies in bathing costumes. Paid 80 cents for all four. There's also a fair bit of sterling, and I scored a brand new Italian flag for a buck. My BIL is getting that whether he likes it or not.(LOL) DSCF6461.JPG DSCF6477.JPG DSCF6478.JPG The moonstone piece is 50s gold-filled, but the stones are real. The tree is Warner and came with earrings. Also not in the picture is a picture jasper bracelet with no marks that they sold me for ... five cents. It's silver, and not pictured because I slapped it on my wrist and forgot to take it off. Total outlay on Saturday, $25.80.

On Friday, there was a different estate sale at a mansion that just sold for over $2 million. Yep. Million. There were tons of pictures of the furniture and housewares, but only one mention in an offline source (they're online too, but most folks only know about the paper edition) that mentioned jewelry. No one else who went to the sale on Friday was hunting jewelry ... so I got $50 worth with next to no competition. There was a ton of Saint John, but I only bought one set of that - it's $$$ but the market is limited to mostly ladies of a certain age and skinnyness. In the pile is a Swarovski crystal rocking chair - paid a buck for it. My favorite finds were a roll of masking tape, go figure, and a beaded Chinese souvenir tiger head. That's headed to a friend's Chinese son.

Couple of new purchases. Mostly got outbid on the really nice stuff I wanted (single dealer with a seemingly bottomless pocketbook got most of it but I made him pay up) but I got a few lesser items for a decent price in my opinion.

Looks like you did well evelyb30! Is the little rocking chair for a charm bracelet?
Love the mug Joe! It looks in great shape.
