AF! Your mail arrived! I love the feel of the antique laid paper, it's like a cloth hanky! Awesome paper! What is the red numbered stamp "HALF P" - which also appears to be cut in half? Does that mean it was printed on a half plate sheet of paper with something else run on the presses on the other half, and the red stamp cut in half is to "testify" to that? I am enamored by the red stamp. This news was made by and about the Edinburgh Movers and Shakers of the day. !! Under "NEW TAXES - The new Post Horse Act" - the new tax doesn't miss a lick! This American girl must be tricky and smart to get it, it's full of legalegalegaleze!! hehehee!! It's an awesome antique, a sampling of life in the fast lane printed for August 31, 1785 - when one HAD to read well to stay abreast of all local matters! I have only just begun to read it.. I am amused by it all - the blurb about the "The Styptic Pencil For Stopping Bleedings - Both External and Internal" hah! I shall read it at the table in better light and take some pictures to post here if anyone else is interested. =)) Your card is so humorous! Your thoughtful gift, I am grinning from ear to ear! I've never held a newspaper this old before, mahalo. ~xo
