I saw there are two bronze sculptures, both are reproductions.
Just take them as decorative art, which one do you think better?
And how much are you willing to pay to buy them? Thanks.

I think the second one is better. In the first one Mercury's chin and jaw line are very strange and the casting quality over all seems to be a lower quality to my untrained eye.

I agree with buyingtime, the 2nd one looks better to my untrained eye. More details that stand out, but I like the first one better.

The second one looks better to me, although I like the darker patina on the first one.

Even though you say they are both reproductions.
The darker one is the older of the two. Most likely bronze, or bronze over spelter. The second looks newer, bronze over resin maybe.
I'd go with the first one and clean it. Not polish it. Just clean it.

I like the darker finish on the first one better too. Upon closer examination of the second one there is a noticeable difference in color on the parts that have been molded separate and joined, ie Medusas head and the wings. Looks like a rather sloppy join on the wing in the second to last picture to. A shame it wasn't finished with that dark finish to hide all that.

The second one shows more detail, but looks to glossy for me. I prefer the 'patina' on the first one, even if it is fake.
    Are they bronze, or spelter?

Almost went for the second one with much better detail until I saw the strange orange patch on his thigh. It looks like the fake bronze tan missed an area. Almost looks like some kind of copper plating underneath. Anyway number one's for me but would have to be desperate for the lack of muscle structure would normally put me off.
    Cheers

The second is described as bronze, but it is possible brass with a bronze finish. It is also heavy with a cold feeling anyway.
The first one is possibly solid bronze.

"...willingness to pay" caught my attention. Maybe English is a second language for you? Anyway I wasn't sure what we were supposed to do with that part of your question, since we usually don't give valuations here. We don't have nearly enough information to guess what these are worth on the market. The little metal plates on the bases are pretty important, as is knowing exactly what base metal was used. Most of the sculptures posted on this forum, which the poster describes as bronze, turn out to be Plated spelter. I'd guess the darker of your sculptures is spelter, or possibly both. I can tell you are new to this field by your belief that one item may be bronze-plated brass, because brass doesn't reproduce very small details, whereas both spelter and bronze do. It kind of sounds like you've been thinking of buying a Pegasus sculpture and want help choosing one of these two. ??

Is it possible the second one is a 3D printed or chill-casted brass sculpture?

Just to make it easier for us to help, can you confirm that you are looking at photos of these online as opposed to looking at the objects in person?

The first one is my preferred, looks "antique", though it is a reproduction - I wonder how old it is. The second one looks like without question like a reproduction, "too much detail". Though detail is something that is appreciated in bronze sculptures, I guess that in the second sculpture the face and some of the detail looks not as fine as the old bronze castings. The first one seems to be spelter, but I would have to touch it. Bottom line, I will go for the first one

Here's where the photos come from, or maybe this seller copied them from elsewhere? Anyway, my Italian is a bit rusty, but doesn't it say this was made in China?

For our linkophobes, here are the auction details, which seem to be in disagreement with each other and obvious facts:

    Specifiche dell'oggetto
    Subject: Abstract
    Style: Art Deco
    Date of Creation: Contemporary (1980-Now)
    Placement: Table
    Medium: Bronze
    Type: Statue
    Country/Region: Chinese
    Height (Inches): 17 inch (43.1cm)
    Originality: Original

    -------------

    Original? Really?

Well, all that enables me to answer the money question about this item. I'd pay about $50. For a Chinese copy statue made of unknown material, one which is undoubtedly being cranked out by thousands in China. I'd use it as a doorstop.
