Howdy any thoughts on these I grabbed today fairly certain quite recent but given that I collect japanese and Chinese stuff I love them one of my favourites. Did a bit of googling one on eBay and another company says they are importing to Russia. Very detailed and crystal I believe but quality wise don't know 15059000126450.jpg 15059000126901.jpg 15059000127212.jpg 15059000323093.jpg 15059000323594.jpg

They are inside painted, just like inside painted glass, crystal, and rock crystal snuff bottles. I think these are crystal.

    Lovely.
Appear to be very nice lead crystal, so that would make them most likely European.
    Reverse painted as Any said.

The crystal would be European, not the Asian painting.
Not sure how that would work. Maybe a company commissioned the glass to be painted that way.

I have a couple of modern snuff bottles in exactly the same style. But they are made in China, and judging from what I paid for them second hand, entirely made in China. Probably in the 1980s.
They are lovely against a window, casting rainbow colours across the hallway.

Does China make cut lead crystal?
I'm familiar with the new modern glass, just not sure I've seen cut crystal attributed to China.

I have no idea, but I wouldn't put it past them.
They also make Art Deco style perfume bottles which look like cut lead crystal.

The Chinese have been making wonderful glass for centuries, including cut.

Yes, they certainly made stunning Peking glass in styles copied by Bohemian/Czechoslovakian glass producers. And they still make gorgeous Beijing glass.

Agreed. Their Peking glass is really nice.
And I know they can make glass. But do they make lead crystal?
That's what the OP's bottles look like.

They probably do make lead crystal. If I have more time, I'll take the snuff bottles I mentioned down from the high window sill they're on, for a photo.
