Yes that is it KOT. Good searching.
I think the kid from Roseanne (DJ) should play Eddie.
But in all honesty, we can't replace the old shows with new ones.
    It just ain't the same.

    No, not usually.

As far as movies I almost passed out when I saw that True Grit was going to be redone!!!!!
    NO!!!

But...Jeff did a great job and showed us how and what that character was meant to be.

Seth Rogen (not Meyers) was the Green Hornet (a truly awful movie).

Loved both True Grit movies (Jeff Bridges is probably my favorite actor - since Thunderbolt and Lightfoot)...

If I had it I'd cough it up for him. :)

Unless he's donating to charity you'd think he has enough at 50 million which seems so very low unless he likes to spend.

    OH!!!! Yes!!! Sorry!!!!!! :p
I was belligerent at him in TGH in the theater!
I paid all the $ to see it in 3-D RPX too! :p
    ~
    OMG!!!!! T&L!!!
I saw that in Hawaii at a drive-in halfway up the Kanapali cliffs!
I had rented a car, the red Vega you may have seen that I drag raced at Hawaii Raceway Park.... ;) and those I was with had gone all the way to the concession stand...
George Kennedy was driving an ice cream truck scoping out the neighborhood and I think he was driving it on the wrong street at the wrong time and this little boy was giving him hell about it!
    ~
Having enough George says: "Hey kid. Go f**k a duck."

They heard me laughing all the way at the concession stand!!! ;)

Last weekend's finds- old gravy boat for research (looks like prob American ironstone); white pitcher for a quarter, that once denuded of its felt bottom turned out to be Homer Laughlin; candy dish; decorative tile of unknown vintage; and 3 unmarked necklaces, and pottery vase.

I've been acting the fool lately, spending money I can't afford on things I don't need. The common sense solution to that is Stop Doing It! But no one has ever accused me of having common sense. Soooo... I figure if I'm going to waste money, I might as well waste some of it on something I've wanted for a long time.

This is a 1974 catalog of 18th C Gold Boxes in the Patino collection:
    Dscn0992b.jpg

It's a small book, only 66 boxes, with text by Kenneth Snowman. They are beautiful boxes (mostly for snuff). The biggest drawback to the catalog is that it doesn't show any of the marks.

The Patinos had the wealth of Croesus. They were known as The Tin Kings of Bolivia for their mining interests at the time of the Second World War - strategic metal, and all that. And they had a taste for 18th C gold and silver. There's a story of the matriarch, on her death bed, giving instructions to a son about what to bid on at an upcoming auction.

This picture shows the catalog against a background of Patino auction catalogs that I've had for decades. (Oops... one is a Thyssen catalog.) Spectacular stuff and as close as I'm ever going to get to any of it. The document in front is a Patino Mining Corporation stock certificate (cancelled) that I purchased on eBay to go with the catalogs.

I've seen that gravy boat's twin brother up close in the last week. Definitely American, and also in need of a hydrogen peroxide bath. The tile has some age on it, and the necklaces don't.

moreotherstuff -- it is important to treat ourselves, as long as it doesn't harm others or yourself, I think. Life is meant to be enjoyed as best it can, as we often witness it is ended too soon unexpectedly. I find the simplest pleasure in movies, tv shows, songs and just going pickin'. I consider my life so blasted simple, but I'm happy. And I have WAY WAY WAY WAY too much inventory, but finding it makes me happy and I don't spend much.

Now... if you decided to buy one of the gold boxes in the book...

    Your collection is lovely.

Speaking of pickin' - I did go out today and found some neat things I've not photographed yet. My favorites are an almost full Evening in Paris bottle, a great 'nearly' antique (by three years) advertising cup for an establishment in Denver, Colorado by Vernon Kilns, two EAPG shamrock goblets I'm trying to ID on my own right now and a really cool Georges Briard tumbler (not the usual stuff) - I've seen something like this once before and remember it had a high selling price for some reason. I may start posts soon for both the EAPG and the Briard. Finished the day with other 'bread and butter items' (Heisey, a nice antique Woods and Sons floral china set, Fitz & Floyd dishes, more Wedgwood, etc.).

One of my favorite stores had an a-m-az-ingly LARGE (the largest I've ever seen) Fostoria vase in one of the etched floral patterns inside a box of donations I spied. A few years ago I shared pics of a 'cache' I stumbled upon (still not listed) I found of several etched Fostoria floral items then, some pretty rare.

The store today, this is the same store I'm finding all my EAPG in... I'm making friends with the folks, but couldn't push them far enough to get that blasted vase before I left. Oh well. I had a lucky day and someone else too.

Fun pickin's, fun movies (me too - I saw mother! and IT) and fun stories to read. Have a nice week everyone!

Ok...I've a bunch of platters and a plate bought years ago now just because I liked their age.
They all are not pretty so I will show only the marks and the plate's front too because that is pretty odd.
I'm looking to see if any of them are something we should talk further about.
    Thank you! :)

@evelyb30 - thanks for the cleaning tip. I'm developing a better eye, but I have limited ideas on ways to restore things.

Found in that these items and more have been in a box for some time marked Kitchen. Given there were other things kitchen related in there as well. ;)

Anyone have any input on all these please?
