    Hello again!
I found a really cool item. It's signed Coro. I looked up all I could and I think it's a "duette" that might've been made between 1930-1950...? But I have not found anything exactly like this one. Also, I've seen some for sale on different platforms and prices range from $30 to $165.
I guess my questions are 1. Is it vintage(yrs?) 2. Gold tone or plated? 3. Valuable?
    Thank y'all:)

Ok. After further research, I think it's not called a duette afterall...LOL, but it's definitely a 2 in 1--brooch/locket pendant.
    Anyways. I appreciate any input.
    Thanks!

Think we should call you Duette. :)

The locket could be gold filled. Is it completely unmarked?

There is the possibility the locket was not originally attached to the bow. They seem very different to me. Maybe Grama didn't like to wear necklaces.

I thought about that. I saw a few coro brooches online that had a bow with other pendants.
But the bow does have the clasp to detach--what do you call these type of 2 in 1's?

    Duette! Perfect. :)

I'm also in agreement that the locket is not original to the Coro bow. Mind you, Coro made thousands of pin/brooch designs. Always possible there is one out there but in a quick search I didn't get any matches for "Coro detachable bow pin". Their bows with dangles seem to be fixed and not meant to be switched out. The spring-ring especially makes me think this is a marriage of two pieces. Certainly works well, though!

I found a similar one that sold on Poshmark. Besides the bow being a bit different, it looks like the heart had an insert that was signed Coro and the one I have might be missing it...? Also, maybe someone added the heart cutout to mine--no sure if it's MOP...?
Sorry--I really know practically nothing about jewelry:(
    Trying to learn.
Thank you for all your input!

Y'all think it's vintage? Any idea what year(s)?
    Thank you:)

Altered. I don't think this is a 'type'; Coro did not put it together this way. Convertible pieces usually allow you to wear the 2 parts separately. Here the bow cannot be worn alone without have the spring ring hanging down.

I didn't even realize that is MOP; thought it was just glare off the metal. I'm inclined to think it is original.

It's been a while since the name Dorothy & nickname Dottie were popular. Lockets also go in & out fashion. If the piece is a marriage, the 2 elements could be different ages.

If your questions are really is it old & is it valuable, my answer would have to be, not very. Vintage, not antique. Costume quality, not fine jewellery. Although I always find them interesting, many people do not like items personalized for someone else, so a drawback for selling.

Looks like the MOP side had something glued to it like this example. Note, this is not a Coro piece, it just shows what I mean about the part glued to the front :)

You could clean off the glue and no one would be the wiser.

I love them if they are really old as I can imagine their history and story. Not so much ‘Luv ya Chelsea’ on a modern ID bracelet :hilarious:. Apologies to any Chelsea’s viewing this thread.
