They would probably just confuse you with an Elvis impersonator.

I haven't bought anything in weeks, and haven't shown anything here for even longer... so I'll show this milk glass paperweight:

I've had this for a couple of years. Someone showed it on the eBay boards and I thought it was pretty cool and said so. So when it got listed, I tossed out a stink bid - a tiny bit higher than the opening. I really thought all I was doing was kicking off the bidding, but only one other person bid, and that was a minimum increment that I had covered, so now it's mine. I still think it's cool.

This is a really interesting piece. How big is it?

It's a paperweight size: irregular, about 2 ½” to the top of the hairdo, 3 ½” side to side, and 3” nose to hair peak.

Are you thinking it's a child with a serious toothache or the mumps?

Is that a recording echosounder? It seems to have couple of switches missing, etc.

I've always thought toothache. Mumps hadn't even occurred to me. I think toothache is somehow a more immediately 'universal' theme.

Moreotherstuff, if you ever decide to sell it I would imagine a dentist (particularly a pedodontist) would be happy to add it to his/her "collection" (even if not displayed in a public place in the office LOL).

Does it work? What is it? Sonar? A fish finder?

If you put the faceplate on, the empty ports look like they would provide wire conduits to those four receptacles?

That's what I imagined when it was originally listed.

image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Found this nice original 3D art work today. I spoke with the artist on the phone and she is a noted artist in Vermont. She has been in big craft shows and many art shows. She said my piece will get about $200. That's cool, I paid $40 for it. It was nice to actually talk to artist themselves. She was shocked that her art work was bought at a flea market in the deep South.
