We have a pair of candlesticks in our collection that are purported to have been gifts from the Tsar and Tsarina of Russia to a then-Ambassador. They were passed down to his great, great nephew, who then bequeathed them to the museum that I work for.
Any input on how old they might be, and if they are truly Russian or not is appreciated!

I would suggest indicating the height of the pieces, Julie.

Looks like the Tsar and Tsarina sent a servant girl to the local 2nd hand store to buy the defective candle sticks.

They measure 11 1/4" tall, the vase is 3 1/4 wide.
I personally never thought that they were Russian, or from the Tsar. I did, however, hope to get useful information on the possible country of origin, and really appreciate the snark that I got instead. That really helped!

Help comes in many forms here.....not always as expected.....and there are still members who have yet to weigh in with information they may have.
It's a process...involving many eyes....who are not always here when a thread lifts off !
