Featured NA sterling jewellery. Possibly both made by same hand?

Found these in UK, can’t remember exactly where or when now. The 1and a half inch long pendant has an A mark which makes me think perhaps Annie Chapo, the inch long ring looks more detailed but no mark. This ring is quite small, I can only fit it onto my little finger. Could they both be made by her? I know very little about NA jewellery so any info would be helpful. Thanks.

The stone settings look similar but the detail on the leaf is much more detailed on the ring. I’m not sure I got these at the same time, my memory gets worse every year.

Not saying that they couldn't have been made by the same hand, but the difference in the style of the leaf and the tendrils make me think they were from two different artists.

The g in sterling mark looked very similar on both, but I agree about the leaf work.

Two different makers, neither of them Annie Chapo, imo. You probably looked on the Amerindien site?
Many makers use an A mark. I don't have much time now, but I'll check later. No guarantees I'll find it though.;)
Those sterling stamps are ready made, so many makers use the same sterling mark.:)

Your two pieces compliment each other nicely (whomever made them), without coming across as too 'matchy-matchy' :)

I can’t remember the site but plugging in A as a makers mark gave me Annie Chapo. I don’t really know the best place to look for alternatives so thanks AJ if you can point me to others.

That's what I was thinking. The Sterling mark was a common stamp. The design on both pieces is a common one to Navajo jewelry - leaves and stones. I wouldn't be surprised if they came from the same town/pueblo, but we'll probably never know whodunnit.

Exactly, it is Art Nouveau with a Navajo touch, like a lot of Navajo jewellery.
In my books I found several silversmiths with the same mark, the books are older so a few more are bound to have been added to the list.
When researching jewellery attributed to Annie Chapo in SW galleries, I found some in the Navajo Art Nouveau style, with the tendrils ending in big multi-ring spirals.
I also found some gorgeous Modernist jewellery, some of it sand cast.
I don't know if these two styles were made by one and the same person.

Of course I also found a huge number of lesser pieces attributed to Annie Chapo on ebay and etsy. In these cases the attribution was based on the A, not specifically on the style.

The sandcast pieces are usually done by a specialist. I'm no Southwestern expert but do know that much.

When looking at hallmarks detail is everything!! Any differences in the letters other than from wear should be taken as not by that maker. That said I agree that pendant isn't made by Anne. I see allot of pieces on eBay being credited to her that just aren't so. Heck I see sellers like finet buy cuffs from silver smiths like rusticwoodwork (James Sloan, Caucasian) and resell them as James Shay pieces for thousands $$
