Featured Pedestal, anyone have any ideas?

    I just sold one that looked just like that.

    Mine turned out to be painted, rather than inlaid wood, and likely from the 1930s or so, rather than antique.

    We'd have to see a closeup, and a photo of the bottom, to be sure what you have.

    I still got $250 for mine.

    Hi!! Thank you do much for the response!! There is nothing on the bottom, how do I know if it's painted or inlaid wood? I will upload more pictures when I get home. I picked it up for 100$!

    Welcome Claire!

    Always show pictures of the bottom and back, marked or not. How a piece is made, and with what materials, can help determine age. A good close up image of the decoration will help us see if the piece is painted or inlaid :)

    $250!! Good going, @Bookahtoo

    Lucky to get $150 in my neck of the woods, where it would likely be classified as "decor." Still, a good deal for the o.p.

    I have a friend who rents space in a place in Brattleboro Vermont. They get more visitors than I do who have deep pockets. He'll put stuff in his booth for me if I ask.
