anybody have information on these beautiful horses?

the brown horse's saddle is real leather but other than that i have no idea what they are or worth. Got them at an estate sale. both are heavy. no markings on either horse.

Measurements of items are always a good place to start. Also what are the figures made of - plastic, glass, pottery? The one in the second photo appears to be plastic because of the mold lines on the tail & the neck.

 

its not plastic. that is for sure. as they are heavy. i would guess brass or metal. both stand about 11in high.

 

They are probably copper plated pot metal. Can't tell if the brassy one is painted or if it is brass plated.

I would think some where around the 1960s/70s.
May have had riders, may just be souvenirs, may have come from horse shows.

 

They may also have had caravans.

 

the casting lines should have been cleaned up, and the reins...being a ball metal chain...
not quality items..

My husband has a couple of similar looking horses. If I remember correctly, his are copper clad pot metal and have removable metal saddles ... always called them "carnival horses" because we thought they used to be prizes won at fairs and carnivals.
