Why is the shading not consistent , one to the other..?
    Are these defective?
Did I lick one more than the other..? :p:p
Does the milky white fade over time..?
Maybe they're just old and tired !

The shading is different from one to the other because this is Depression Glass. It was cheaply made by machine and sold in stores like Woolworth or given away as premiums in products like Quaker Oats or Duz Detergent. They are not defective. The opalescence does not fade over time. This is your pattern:

    Thanks.
I like them a lot less now, knowing they are cheap machine made give a ways...made while the world was at war.

These need to be refired to bring out the opalescence. This is done by hand and they workers may not be consistent with the refiring time and or closeness to the heat. So there was hand work required to make your Moonstone.

They aren't technically considered Depression Glass since they were first made in the early 1940's. Most collectors only consider something to be Depression glass if the pattern was introduced in the 1930's.

Interesting that even though these were made starting in 1941 they are listed in quite a few Depression Glass books. I just checked several I have and there are in there :angelic:

    Hi Marie,
They are certainly not depression glass. I remember years ago when they made the change to 40s50s and 60s books. i think there was a problem with Anniversary pattern also. I remember when a friend called me and said he found 100s of pieces of Carnival glass in his aunts basement. I was so excited but they turned out to 50s and 60s iridescent glass, close but no cigar.
