Featured The one that got away, and what it inspired...

Howdy all, so this is just a post dedicated to that wonderful and amazing Japanese wood carving of a chimpanzee that got away, darn you who bid $1 higher! I hang my head low while kicking the dirt in my despondency ( sob, sob).

So, in order to fill that terrible void in one’s soul that comes from losing the auction for an intricately carved, signed by the artist, wooden chimpanzee; i was inspired to pick up my dusty carving tools and try to create something out of wood a little more vampiric and a little more cephalopodic. Here are the results:

Also, as much as it seems like you just lost by one dollar, the other bidder may have gone much much higher --one never knows.

However....I think you should be designing for a movie set!

 

About the dollar, yeah..mighta been like 100 more, who’s to say? My way of thinking though, was that it just took that 1 to elicit the subsequent fist shaking at the universe

 

One hand: darnitt! Other hand: who knows where the other guy's max was? You could have raised the bid by another $50 and still missed it by a dollar.

right?! Hrm...well...just...uhh...hey! They both have eyes! Yesh, it’s the best connection I could come up with, beyond they both were carved outta wood. One a fraction more amateur than the other. Heh
