I would like to say, that none of us is the artist who painted this. We have no idea what they were trying to achieve here. They may not have been the best at trying to achieve a photo perfect painting, if they were trying to paint it of Grace Kelly. So, without knowing the truth, from the artist own words, all of us can't say "Yes or No" about this painting. It's nice to speculate and think of it as we wish.

I'm just curious, when you say fantasy piece, what does that mean?

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

It means that the artist didn't use live models - he used images that pertained to his composition. He wanted to paint three beautiful women in turbans and used whatever source had what he wanted. As an artist, I understand I must work from my own photographs because of copyright laws on published photos, but that doesn't mean it's always adhered to by other artists. Back in those days, there weren't such stringent rules.

I think this is student work done from magazine pictures back in the day.
