    Hi,
I picked up this piece today - would this be for water with ice? Has the little piece to catch the ice or maybe leaves from iced tea? I see one listed as a Martini shaker, but doesn't look like what I would consider a martini shaker - that said I've never had a martini so I'm no expert. This is 13" in height.
    thanks for looking

    Classy ...very !!
Not a shaker but a pourer for anything needing to be strained..ice water sounds as good as anything.

If the lid does block the strainer and is tight...I guess it could be a shaker as well...
    on sober 2nd thought...

Komokwa, the lid does fit in tight, so I guess it could be a shaker.

I would have said this is a 1930s-40s drink mixer/server. Mostly martini.
Anything that would have been shaken with ice and then poured.
