Starburst pattern? glass. Who and how old?

    Hi all, i am trying to determine the age of this glass piece.
    And if it is original to the sterling top or a marriage.
    the top is sterling made in 1904.

    Based upon the pattern (design of pseudo cuts) it could well be contemporary with the cover. It is a modification of the old Hobnail, AKA Daisy & Button pattern, introduced in 1883.
